College Common Rules and Regulations

General Conduct

  1. All students must maintain discipline and decorum on campus at all times.
  2. Respect towards faculty, staff, and fellow students is mandatory.
  3. Any form of harassment, bullying, or discrimination is strictly prohibited.
  4. Students must carry their valid college ID cards while on campus.

Attendance

  1. Students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance in each subject (or as prescribed by the institution).
  2. Absence due to illness must be supported by a medical certificate.
  3. Students failing to meet attendance requirements may be barred from examinations.

Dress Code

  1. Students must adhere to the prescribed dress code/uniform.
  2. Wearing indecent or inappropriate attire is not permitted on campus.
  3. Lab coats/uniforms are compulsory in laboratories and workshops.

Academic Integrity

  1. Cheating, plagiarism, and any form of academic dishonesty are strictly prohibited.
  2. Assignments and projects must be submitted on time.
  3. Use of unfair means during examinations will result in disciplinary action.

Use of Campus Facilities

  1. Library rules must be strictly followed (silence, timely return of books, etc.).
  2. Laboratory equipment must be handled carefully; damages must be reported immediately.
  3. College property must not be damaged or misused.

Prohibited Activities

  1. Ragging in any form is strictly banned and punishable under law.
  2. Consumption of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco on campus is prohibited.
  3. Carrying weapons or hazardous materials is strictly forbidden.

Mobile Phones and Electronic Devices

  1. Use of mobile phones during lectures is prohibited unless permitted by the faculty.
  2. Recording audio/video without permission is not allowed.

Discipline and Penalties

  1. Violation of rules may result in warnings, fines, suspension, or expulsion.
  2. Serious misconduct may be reported to legal authorities.

Grievance Redressal

  1. Students may submit complaints through the proper grievance redressal mechanism.
  2. All grievances will be addressed fairly and confidentially.

Amendments

  1. The college administration reserves the right to amend or update these rules and regulations as necessary.

Hostel Rules and Regulations

Admission & Allotment

  1. Hostel admission is granted on an annual/semester basis.
  2. Room allotment is done by the Hostel Warden/Administration.
  3. Students must occupy only the room allotted to them.
  4. Room change is permitted only with prior written approval.
  5. Hostel fees must be paid within the stipulated time.

Attendance & Timings

  1. Hostel gate closes at the prescribed time (e.g., 9:00 PM / 10:00 PM).
  2. Late entry requires prior permission from the warden.
  3. Night-out is allowed only with written permission from parents/guardians and approval of the warden.
  4. Attendance may be taken daily at a fixed time.

Visitors Policy

  1. Visitors are allowed only during permitted hours.
  2. Visitors must register at the security desk.
  3. Visitors are not allowed inside rooms.
  4. No outsider is permitted to stay overnight.

Room & Property Care

  1. Residents are responsible for the cleanliness of their rooms.
  2. Damage to hostel property will be charged to the concerned student.
  3. Rearranging or shifting hostel furniture without permission is prohibited.
  4. Regular inspections may be conducted by hostel authorities.

Cleanliness & Hygiene

  1. Students must maintain personal hygiene and keep common areas clean.
  2. Littering in corridors, bathrooms, or premises is strictly prohibited.
  3. Waste should be disposed of in designated bins.
  4. Cooking inside rooms is not allowed.

Prohibited Items

The following are strictly prohibited:

  1. Alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and smoking materials
  2. Weapons or sharp objects
  3. Electric heaters, induction stoves, and other unauthorized appliances
  4. Firecrackers or inflammable materials

Use of Electricity & Appliances

  1. Students should switch off lights and fans when not in use.
  2. Unauthorized electrical appliances are not allowed.
  3. Overloading sockets is strictly prohibited.

Mess Rules

  1. Mess timings must be strictly followed.
  2. Food should not be wasted.
  3. Utensils must not be taken outside the mess area.
  4. Complaints regarding food should be reported to the mess in-charge.

 Study Hours

  1. Silence must be maintained during study hours.
  2. Loud music or gatherings in rooms are not permitted.
  3. Use of speakers is prohibited in common areas.

Safety & Security

  1. Students must not engage in activities that compromise safety.
  2. In case of emergency, inform the warden immediately.
  3. Tampering with fire safety equipment is strictly prohibited.

Leave Rules

  1. Students must fill out a leave application form before leaving the hostel.
  2. Emergency leave must be informed to the warden immediately.
  3. Parents/guardians may be contacted for verification.

Disciplinary Action

Violation of hostel rules may result in:

  • Warning
  • Fine
  • Suspension from the hostel
  • Expulsion from the hostel
  • Further disciplinary action by college authorities
